Ross and Robyn Wilson spent years looking for the perfect site in the Yarra Valley. The Medhurst Vineyard has a favourable micro-climate, north facing slopes, good drainage and magnificent aspect. It was planted in 2000 with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz – how could they resist?

Chief winemaker, Simon Steele took the reigns in 2015 after a stint at Brokenwood wines and more than 20 vintages around the world. Simon’s approach is to grow wines so he lets the fruit be the star. He focuses on long, silky tannins for the red wines, and purity and energy for the whites.
