With the 2020 bushfires resulting in unusable smoke tainted grapes for much of Beechworth's vignerons, Fighting Gully Road's Mark Walpole sought a solution to tie them over until the next vintage. Having fallen in love with the wines of Italy's Tuscany region long ago, Mark sourced a Chianti made by some dear friends at Poggiotondo, which was shipped over to Australia and bottled onsite at the Fighting Gully Road winery. Sweet cherry aromatics, dried herbs, and kirsch liqueur with fresh acidity and tobacco leaf tannins. Approachable and extremely food-friendly!
