Winemaker and all-round champion Tessa Brown first established her winery just outside of Beechworth in 2014, after having accrued a wealth of experience from her time at Sorrenberg. Along with her husband, Jeremy Schmölzer, who comes from an architectural background, the pair have been crafting pristine and elegant wines from a multitude of quality sites around Victoria, quickly earning themselves an enviable reputation. Roter is a blend of Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Merlot from the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula, fermented as whole berries and aged in a mix of large and small oak barrels. It's lifted and bright, with a core of crunchy red and black berries along with a gentle imprint of peony florals. Easy-drinking and very accessible, this will happily take a slight chill if you should be so inclined!
