Been craving some complex, unique, and beautifully expressive wines from the mountainous Savoie region? Well you’re in luck, because Jean-Yves Péron is here! After years studying winemaking and working with iconic winemakers like Thierry Allemand in Cornas and Bruno Schuller in Alsace, Savoie-born and raise Péron came back home in 2004 and has been making prolific cuvées ever since. Due to the mountainous terrain, all of his vineyards are managed very manually, following organic and biodynamic viticultural practices (though he’s chosen to opt out of official certification). Championing forgotten local varieties and considered, minimal intervention winemaking techniques, the wines of Jean-Yves Péron are true joys to drink! Made from 100% Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains that has spent two months on skins before being aged in neutral oak on fine lees. A lovely floral nose with a little peach and tropical fruit, yet underpinned by a dry and beautifully textured palate.
