Gut Oggau is the project of Eduard Tscheppe and Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck, a dynamic duo who tend to their certified biodynamic vineyards in Burgenland, Austria. With a focus on traditional Austrian grape varieties, their winemaking is framed by a meticulous and minimal intervention approach, yielding wines of extraordinary purity and complexity. Winifred is made from a blend of Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt from 35-year-old vines, destemmed and fermented in a mix of large format oak barrels, matured for eight months - then finally bottled unfined and unfiltered with no sulphur additions. Energetic and immensely refreshing, it's bursting with tart red berries, delicate florals and zest blood orange with an undercarriage of savoury minerals.
