The Marsannay Aux Ronsoy is made from 100% de-stemmed Pinot Noir from a small 1.3acre plot of 55-year-old vines growing on heavy limestone soils.

The fruit was handpicked, with a five-day cold soak and fermentation occurring in old concrete open-top fermenters before pressing to 228l tonneau, of which around 30% were unseasoned. The wine then remains in barrel, with one racking for fifteen months before being assembled for bottling. A clear step up in aromatic florals from the Bourgogne Rouge - Raspberry and ripe cherry coupled with more precise, compressed tannin. Good tension front to back through the fruit.

Who Is Philippe Robert?

Hailing from the village of Couchey in the Côte de Nuits, this fourth-generation Domaine crafts beautiful, traditional Burgundy.

With holdings in both Marsannay and Fixin, the wines of father/son duo, Philippe and Johann Robert have close family ties to the famed Domaine Armand Rousseau family, and while that could well be an easy sales pitch to lean on, these wines have no problem speaking for themselves in their own right.

These are wines that we're incredibly pleased to have on Australian shores, which far surpass their comparatively modest price points and make for an exceptional drinking experience.
