The 2021 vintage in Mornington has been titled as quite possibly the perfect growing and ripening season!
Jane Eyre left Australian in 2004 to pursue her wine making journey. She was fortunate enough to land in Burgundy and as the saying goes, the rest is history. Now, working as a negociant winemaker – someone who purchases grapes from reputable growers, creating fine wines available in the most prestigious restaurants and wine stores across the globe. In 2021 she became the first woman, and the first Australian, to win a coveted ‘winemaker of the year’ award from French magazine La Revue du Vin de France.
Fruit comes from 20-year-old, dry grown vines in Merricks. Aromatics of orange essence, lavender and bay leaf. A poised palate, red cranberry, ripe cherry, earthy spice and chewy tannin.
