A truly unique spirit crafted by the late Mark Dunemann.
Made in collaboration with Dane Johns of Momento Mori in Gippsland. Whole bunches of Greco di Tufo were distilled to produce a spirit of incredible character, with star anise and stewed apple notes that are reminiscent of French Calvados.

Who is Crank 1D Distillery?
Crank 1D was the acclaimed project of Mark Dunemann, a talented distiller who sadly passed away in 2021 at a time when his craft was just kicking into full gear. Having fallen in love with Grappa (an Italian spirit made from grape skins and pulp leftover from the production of wine), Dunemann devoted his full attention to reproducing the spirit using grape pomace sourced from wineries in his home region in Gippsland, as well as other regions across Victoria. His legacy lives on in this final release of his spirits, which are revered for their astounding purity and quality.
