You might be asking yourself: 'What does this wine have to do with a tv show featuring a Super Robot piloted by five space explorers?' The answer is... not much. However, the team at Konpira Maru's creativity knows no limits so we're rolling with it because it always pays off. This year's Voltron is made from a blend of five different explorers (sorry...grape varieties): Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Barbera, Pinot Gris and Shiraz. The result is an easy-drinking red/white blend packed with loads of berry fruit, hints of herbs and a sappy sweetness.

Made in the 'joven' (or young) style to show off the vibrant fruit characters of the varietal, and show off it does! Pepper and tea leaf spice on the nose lead to a moreish palate of ripe cherry and violet notes, with a refreshing acid line. This is a drink now kinda wine, but there is enough substance if you want to take your time.

Crittenden Los Hermanos Tempranillo 2021

An interesting combination of Gewürztraminer and Sangiovese grapes gives this wine a lip-smacking jubey red fruit quality along with plenty of crunchy acidity. Light-bodied, this wine is begging to be chilled before a BBQ.

A lovely core of sweet fruit encases the wine's pronounced acid line, with a nice forestal earthy edge and sandy tannins.

Soft and plush Syrah from Kilmore that was picked at the end of May. Has lovely, light aromatics that are blushing with red fruit, rhubarb and a smattering of peppery spice. Palate is soft and plush, great new-school Syrah.
