Golden on the nose with rich notes of apricot before the leaner, fresher palate takes charge with some gentle hazelnut creaminess and a lick of spice playing through the middle. Heathcote Grenache from Willoughby Bridge that was pressed immediately to produce a translucent, transfixing, white wine. Tastes ripe and full of pear but is savoury and will go well with your favourite picnic foods and a little sunscreen well into Autumn.

Jean Paul Trijsburg Grenache Blanc de Noir 2022

Jamsheed Fiallo 2022

A bottle from Chalmers’ first Malvasia plantings. The grape is mostly found in Fruili and is common in Croatia and Slovenia. Imagine ripe pear, citronella, and a little herb leaf, sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Unfiltered and unfined means a good texture here and some savouriness. Delicious with gyoza, dumplings, dim sum, pot stickers and pierogies.

Fantastic Aussie Fiano from Heathcote from the famed Jasper Hill estate. There's a light woodsmoke reduction on the nose which gives way to baked apple and ripe pear notes wrapped up in a veil of silky, glycerol-like texture. Lovely drinking!

Lo Stesso Fiano 2021

Emily Kinsman fell in love with the Heathcote region and established Eck Wines in 2019. Their wines are inspired by place, best shared with people you love and have an intrinsic playfulness. Each minimal intervention lo-fi wine Emily makes embodies one of these three pillars. More of an aperitivo style with low key sweetness. Notes of red apple, marzipan and hints of quince, pear and citrus zest. A nice phenolic push and the lower sweetness make this great for fruit desserts with a nice acidity to cut through the richness of creamy sweets too. (500ml)
