One to put under lock and key for a couple of years at least. These tannins are tight but should loosen as long as you can hold off. This Barolo normale is called "Berri" in 2019 as it is made up mostly from the Berri vineyard that sits in the most western part of Barolo. All that sun exposure has led to a palate of red berry fruit, pencil shavings, dried herbs and white pepper, and a striking aromatic top register. Assolutamente divino!

One for patient drinkers. The optimum window for this Barolo is 2027-2044. As you’re waiting, the dark cherries/Morello liqueur flavours will be developing alongside hard candy, rose petal and a strip of lean mint. Daniel Bouland's wines are bold, structured, and incredibly layered, offering a wonderful reference point for how versatile and brooding Gamay can be. Hailing from Bouland's most recently acquired parcel in the lieu-dit, Pré Jourdan, sitting on the Morgon-Fleurie border. Just a tiny amount of wine is made from these 70-year-old vines, enough to fill a single cask. Fleshy and aromatic, with layers of lush red fruits, silky tannin and a long, sweeping finish.

Named after Bouland's daughter, Cuvée Mélanie comes from a small parcel of 70-year-old vines, located on the steep slopes of Mount Brouilly. A fantastic wine to accompany a dinner party, this shows sweet blue fruits alongside a thrilling line of tangy acidy and powdery tannin, with a perfumed veil layered with smoke, spice and alluring red fruits.
