Winemaker, Hamish Young, is a star on the rise—the proof is in the pudding, with this fast becoming one very sought-after Riesling in the Canberra District.
Full and rich with a Germanic feel to the wine, with some struck match, lovely acidity and minerality, with lemon citrus and pith. Fruit for this wine comes from vineyards east of Murrumbateman, where the rockier sites are rich in quartz and shale, and was almost entirely pressed as whole bunches before fermenting in a mix of steel tank and ceramic eggs, with a small de-stemmed portion fermented on skins.
