A powerful and brooding Pinot Noir from the inimitable Josh Cooper.
More concentrated than previous releases, this is one that will continue to evolve in the glass with time. Black raspberry, cherry, silky tannins and fresh acidity are layered with the spice we've come to expect from Doug's Vineyard. Pinot Noir from vines sitting atop a North East facing hillside were hand-harvested and carefully sorted in the cool of the morning and soaked as whole bunches, before spending 12 months on lees in a mix of Laurent and Burgundian oak, and a further four months on fine lees in stainless tanks.
