Gentian is the second cuvée in a series by Wildflower that draws inspiration from herbs and spices from apéritifs and digestifs.
This iteration celebrates the gentian root, which is found in French liqueurs and you may recognise in a lot of the bottles in your cocktail cabinet, like Angostura bitters, Campari, Aperol, amaro and vermouth. Wormwood plays a supporting role here too—you'll know wormwood as the namesake and one of the original ingredients in vermouth.
Keep those flavours in mind while we start to talk about how this beer tastes... Floral, pollen-like aromas harmonise with notes of citrus and spicy oak. The palate is earthy and green, with brown spices, ginger and sweet citrus. You'll be able to spot the unmistakable gentian bitterness on the palate too, conjuring impressions of your favourite cocktail. This beer is expertly made and a joy to drink—not to mention, a whole lot of fun to test your palate with!
