This local blend of Portuguese red varietals greets us with aromas of lavender, plum, cardamom, mocha, and a faint whisper of boot polish. Touriga Naçional and Tinta Cão are at the helm of this blend and distinguish themselves through notes of ripe plums and liquorice—the former—and bright and fragrant blue fruits from the latter.

The supporting acts though, are anything but in the shadows, Tinta Roriz brings a savoury depth to the palate to complement the Tinta Amarela’s floral and bay leaf herbal lift. To tie everything together the finesse of Alvarelhão and the acidity of the Sousão tightens, brightens and drives the long palate. Wonderfully complex and yet medium-bodied.

We'd be very intrigued to see how this one tastes after a few years cellaring!
