From the iconic Balgownie Vineyard, a name that really needs no introduction to lovers of Victorian wine.
Refined, complex and concentrated, the palate is awash with Cabernet fruit, sweet cassis and cedar spice, braced by tannic structure—give this plenty of time in the decanter to unwind. The first to ripen of the three Cabernet Sauvignon sites, the fruit was harvested by hand, partially foot crushed and open fermented for three weeks, before elevage in a mix of new Stockinger and seasoned Bordeaux barriques for 12 months.
