From the Morei vineyard that sits on sandy alluvial soil with lots of small stones - a site that receives about one extra hour of sunshine per day during the growing season.
Elisabetta Foradori is a pioneer organic winegrower from the town of Trentino in Mezzolambardo. She is now considered one of the most forward-thinking winegrowers in the Italy region. She has a keen focus on Treoldego, a very old Trentino red grape variety that has roots dating back to the 15th century.
The wines today are highly sought after and are a pure, true expression of the terroir. A true joy to experience.
As with the whites, this spends eight months on skins in tinajas (amphoras from Villarrobledo, Spain). Black cherries, blue flowers, tar and tobacco leaf. Pop it in the decanter and watch it unfurl, or if you have the patience this will cellar well.
