Gut Oggau is the project of Eduard Tscheppe and Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck, a dynamic duo who tend to their certified biodynamic vineyards in Burgenland, Austria. With a focus on traditional Austrian grape varieties, their winemaking is framed by a meticulous and minimal intervention approach, yielding wines of extraordinary purity and complexity.
Timotheus is a blend of Grüner Veltliner and Weiss Burgunder (or Pinot Blanc around these parts), coming from 40-year-old vines. Hand-harvested and partially destemmed fruit, a portion was fermented on skins for three weeks, with the remaining amount direct pressed before both portions were blended and bottled without filtering, fining and no additions.
