The wine is grown on steep, sun soaked hillsides so work (interference) is minimal. If that’s not la dolce vita, we don’t know what is. In a glass, it’s fresh with summer scents of dandelion and cut grass and a pinch of salinity.

An incredible wine from Boveri Giacomo Derthona. This vineyard gives the most Chablis-esque characteristics of all the single vineyard releases from them. Hazelnut with ripe lime, lemon verbena and a briny edge pair perfectly with the crisp, energetic and mineral side with fine chalky texture.

From the north side of Etna, this Bianco is fermented entirely in steel to really let the precious volcanic earth come through with as little manipulation as possible. It's salty with a little honey blossom and some peach fuzz on the nose, while the palate is more savoury. There's also a textural quality as there is with most things Sicilian in our experience. Bellissima.

From a vineyard in Alba planted in 2011 at a high altitude of 750m. Pure and elegant, with white melon and crisp citrus notes alongside a potent mineral edge and brisk acidity adding lovely tension.

This seldom-seen variety rarely makes its way to our stores, so we're particularly chuffed to have this ultra-vibrant white gracing our glass with tantalising aromas of honeysuckle, blossom and lemon curd. A touch of savoury nuttiness joins ripe stonefruit on the palate, along with defined minerality and alpine herbs it is generous in texture yet crisp in feel.

Rich in alpine herbs, acacia flowers and citrus notes, this is an incredibly aromatic wine—breathe deep and enjoy. There's a nice carry of racy acidity (that lends itself VERY well to fondue) and flavour on the palate, with cooling herbs, stony minerality and exceptional length. Petite Arvine was grown in the shadow of Mont Blanc at an altitude of 550-650m—a fact to keep handy for your next wine club.

San Giusto a Rentennano Vin San Giusto 2013

Located in the heart of the Langhe hills at the top of the village of Castiglione Falletto. The family has been making wine for four generations as has some of the most highly sort after vineyards in the Barolo region. Timorasso has often been referred to as the “Barolo” of white wine, due to its complexity and finesse but also its aging potential. There is lovely tension and texture in the 2019 cuvee, orchard fruit drizzled with honey, and a mineral-laden finish. A shining example of the right grape in the right place.

Marina Coppi is a small family-run estate in Castellania (closer to Liguria than Piedmonte), predominantly working with Timarasso and Barbera grapes. A lovely fresh style of wine, with a waft of meadow flowers and a nice honey tone. Delicious and thought-provoking.

It opens with a bit of volcanic reduction on the nose, yet blows off to reveal savoury herbs and light honey blossom. The palate is full of texture and glide, with rockmelon, green apple, citrus peel and saline minerals framed by chalky texture and grip.

This is an excellent example of how good this variety can be, and will strike an emotional chord with lovers of Chablis. Raised in 100% stainless steel and seeing no oak, it's a crisp and pure white with preserved lemon, green apple, jasmine florals, and savoury spice notes supported by saline acidity.

One of the best things about white wine is that there is literally something for everyone if you look hard enough! Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Fiano, Chardonnay et al - whatever your taste, you’re in for a good time. These are phenomenal expressions of site, bringing oodles of flavour to your palette, and range from light, mineral, and citrusy all the way to textural, oak-laden, buttery cuvées (and all of the iterations in between!).
