The style is super bright and there’s some lees work and a little trademark Margies, new oak spice. The palate is a wash with citrus and grapefruit pith and of course, some of that Indian Ocean spray. Superb lunch wine.

We’re in on that alone, but there’s also a sturdy backbone of compact stone fruit and a nice citrussy-sherbety pull of acidity to keep you energised over the warmer months. We recommend pouring this into a fishbowl-sized wine glass, giving it a little swirl and savouring everything it has to offer. Superb modern Chardonnay that also deserves some space in the cellar.

Xanadu Circa 77 Chardonnay 2021

Say that three times fast while drinking this lil number. Lemon barley, lots of stone fruit, light notes of nectarine and some pithy grip make for a tasty time.

Yokel Chenin Blanc 2022

Lemon myrtle and verbena, spicy lemongrass and some cooling, crushed mint, with hints of nicely refreshing bitterness to the wine. Organically grown, hard-harvested and left on full lees for four months before bottling.

Dormilona Blanco 2022

Like the Four Chambers of the heart, Pete believes there are four pillars for making wine: viticulture, winemaking, maturation and presentation. Not your standard Chardonnay, there's plenty to dive into here, with notes of peach, stone fruit and a little savoury gun smoke reduction and some grape fruit peel. It's sitting more in the mid weight, with a savoury feel to the wine. (750ml) 12.5% ABV
