During this time they developed strong relations with local winemakers - most notably Jo Pithon and Francois Chidaine, who the couple credit as being the inspiration for deciding to produce wine themselves. Having adhered to organic viticultural principles since the very start of their winemaking endeavour,Agnès and René are strong proponents of minimal intervention winemaking. All their wines are barrel-fermented and aged, using only neutral oak, and minimal sulphur is used. Whilst René is now retired (Agnès still works), the couple's sons, Sylvestre and Joseph, have since taken the reins of the family estate. This wine is made from a tiny plot of land that is less than half a hectare which is what makes it so special and oh so hard to come by. It's rich, textural, and balanced by pristine acidity, with delicate florals, stewed apple and wild honey notes lingering alongside the faintest hint of residual sugar. A truly charming example of Chenin.

Domaine Mosse Arena Savennières 2020

Chenin Blanc from MMAD's youngest vines, with tension and a Chablis-esque maritime quality. Chiselled and restrained, with apple, saline, lovely blossoms and a flinty mineral edge. A portion of this wine was fermented in concrete, with another parcel whole bunch pressed for texture. For those familiar with Chenin in its Loire surrounds - think Savennières for a stylistic cue!

One of the best things about white wine is that there is literally something for everyone if you look hard enough! Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Fiano, Chardonnay et al - whatever your taste, you’re in for a good time. These are phenomenal expressions of site, bringing oodles of flavour to your palette, and range from light, mineral, and citrusy all the way to textural, oak-laden, buttery cuvées (and all of the iterations in between!).
