The weather wasn't as kind to the Huon fruits, instead, this portion was destemmed and sorted, leaving only the best fruit for whole-berry fermentation. The resulting wine is a celebration of the softness and elegance of Huon fruit and the structure and spice of the Derwent. It's approachable now with a good decant, but will reward you greatly if you can bear to wait.

A bright yet undoubtedly powerful expression of Tasmanian Pinot Noir that retains its elegance. In the glass, expect a floral perfume, alongside red and black fruits. Sourced from six vineyards across the Huon Valley, Coal Valley, Tamar Valley, Derwent Valley, Pipers River and the East Coast, fruit for this cuvée was handpicked and fermented on skins for 10 days, with a small portion as whole bunches.

Chatto Lutruwita Pinot Noir 2022

Ruscello translates to 'small mountain stream' in Italian and the site is named for its proximity to a small creek running through the middle of the property. Recognised for producing fruit that's at once generous as it is delicate, from vines planted to grey, gravelly silt over porous white clay. Yet another lovely Pinot Noir showing off everything there is to love about the variety and a fine addition to any cellar.

La Roccia vines have the most sun exposure of Lubiana’s blocks which allows for the wild cherry and lick of amaro crunch that lingers in this one. Tannin is chewy of course, but never overpowering. Bravo Lubianas!

Jane selects three northern Tasmanian vineyards for this darker-fruited expression. It's medium-bodied and will reward time in a decanter or a spell in the cellar. It's brimming with darker berry fruits, sage and that classic Tassie, slightly firmer tannin profile, supported by some supremely well played oak. Impressive.

Jane Eyre Tasmania Pinot Noir 2022

Fruit for this cuvée was mostly destemmed, with a portion of whole bunches to bring perfume and structure to the wine, and aged in a mix of new and old French oak barriques and puncheons. After selecting only the most pristine and structural barrels, the resulting wine has a lovely flow, with a nice line of tension.

Clarence House Reserve Pinot Noir 2021

Brimming with red cherry, brambly fruit and some plum that carries through to darker berries, fleshy, ripe cherries and a little tea leaf woven through.

Hughes & Hughes Pinot Noir 2021

Red fruits, oak and a little spice, with a cranberry-like crunch to the acidity. As with all vintages, this comes from a block of old vines called Jack, the fruit for this was hand-harvested and sorted in the vineyard before fermentation with more whole bunches than in previous years. Holyman have made this specifically to age well, so pop it in the cellar and dust it off in a few years—you'll thank your younger self!

Aromas of tobacco and orange rind, with sour cherry carrying through to the palate alongside red fruit, dried herbs and amaro. Nestled among the protected hills north of Campania, the vines grow on a mix of sandy loam over clay soils, making for a delicate and fine rendition, of the two single vineyard wines Cooinda Vale is always the more perfumed and finer boned in style.

Outstanding single vineyard Pinot Noir from the Butcher's Hill site. Aromatics of earthy undergrowth and tobacco leaf highlight the savoury characteristics of the wine. The palate is laden with spice, dried herbs and the dense, darker fruits we've come to expect from this site, with some extra oak spice and structure framing the fruit.

A blend of Tasmanian fruit sits composed and compact on a bright rail of acidity—redcurrant, wild raspberry and cassis, with oak very much in the background. Wild fermented, with a fraction whole bunch, and matured in French oak—it’s just lovely!
