One of the easier drinking Pinots we’ve had in a while thanks to round, soft and fleshy fruit that’s just slightly sweet thanks to some Tumbarumba warmth. Fruit spent time in oak and there’s some nice evidence of that, which fills out the wine along with some herbal undergrowth. Yum!

Mount Majura The Silurian Sparkling 2021

An amplified, but still crispy Riesling from the too-often-overlooked Canberra district. Crisp with green apple and that softening talcy chalk that is always welcome to round things out. This one's a real bouquet of lime and grapefruit citrus. Delectable.

Mallaluka Naturally Sparkling Shiraz 2021

This is not just wearing its cooler growing season with confidence, it's absolutely owning it while embracing the spicier realm of what Shiraz Viognier can be. Salted plum and a pinch of anise intermingle with some leaf and stem elements from the whole bunches, with some beautifully spiced tannins that will unwind with some time in the decanter (or cellar if you can bear to wait)

Ravensworth Estate Shiraz Viognier 2021

Fruit for this is handled separately and fermented with a few whole bunches in the mix (around 5%) and matured in a mix of Allier and Tronçais oak for 20 months, before finally coming together in the bottle. Floral aromatics with a spiced edge lead to a palate layered with fleshy tannin and a dry, savoury finish.

Mada Nebbiolo Rosé 2021

A special little Gris from Mada wines, with fruit coming from outside of the Canberra region due to the effects of the 2020 bushfires - in this case, from Mt Alexander in Bendigo. Pressed to steel and oak for fermentation, with a 7% addition of whole berry-fermented Vermentino. Zippy and fresh, with crunchy green apple, stonefruit, a bit of spice, and mandarin peel.

Mada Wines Pinot Gris 2020

One of the best Australian rieslings from a true icons of cool climate Australian winemaking. Heaps of delectable complexity and floral aromatics. A long, fine saline acidity with lime and citrus notes is punctuated by herbs, chalk and mouth watering freshness. Next level dry riesling right here. A release we hold our breath for each year and this years has taken it away.
