This is one to buy a magnum of and take to your next BBQ because it’ll delight with all those plums, red rope liquorice and some sandy tannins. Be prepared though, it’ll still go quickly, it’s that good.

So bright on the nose with red and black berries and incredibly easy drinking with white pepper spice, raspberry and dusty tannins, with hints of moreish olive brine in the fold. The Vincent is a nod to winemaker, Marco Cirillo's father who has passed eight generations of Italian winemaking and grape-growing knowledge down to the ninth.

Easy-drinking Shiraz that's laden with dark berries tempered by some moreish acidity, a crack of white pepper, approachable sweet tannin and some well placed toasty oak character from its 10 months spent in a mix of seasoned and new oak. Delicious.

A big ol' glass of purple-y violets and blue fruits! A dab of gravelly tannins that would win over any Cab Sauv devotee adds a darker tonal feel and a serious edge to the wine. That doesn't mean it's not BBQ-ready, get an apron and the grill on STAT!

Seppeltsfield Barossa Touriga 2022

Sourced from both family-owned and grower vineyards throughout the Barossa, including some that are the oldest in the region, this Grenache shows a real sense of place. In the glass, ripe strawberry and raspberry coulis are complemented by a little sage, saltbush and some lovely sandy tannins tightening it up before the nice and savoury finish.

Corryton Burge Grenache 2022

Packed with black fruit and licorice, ripe black cherry and currants, plum pastille and olive tapenade with a big dollop of luscious tannin, to balance all that ripe fruit. Grab the wood splitter and open this next to the fire.

Ben Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz 2021

A fragrant and opulent wine, with aromas of florals and spice. This vintage was low yielding but gave fruit with a powerful intensity. Rich boysenberry and cherry are met with notes of charcuterie and cooling spice, which carry on the palate through powdery tannins. There's great length to this fantastic Barossa Shiraz. We think it's the perfect way to treat yourself after a long day of valuing fine gems, or however it is you spend your days.

Michael Hall Sang de Pigeon Shiraz 2021

These robust Roussanne grapes were hand-picked on February 24th—slightly earlier or slightly later and we’d be tasting a completely different wine—that’s the kind of precision you can expect from an ex-jewellery valuer! Stone fruit and a freshening acidity intermingle here, with some well-balanced oak adding to the complexity of the wine. A stellar winter white!

A classic Barossa 'Raz with lots of plum, berries and just a dab of red liquorice playing with warming baking spice on the full and textural palate, while the freshness fruit keeps this in very drinkable shape.

Izway Rob and Les Shiraz 2022

Beautifully medium-weighted in the glass with an easy flow of blackcurrant, blood plum, and rhubarb on the palate with cooling herbs and a jolt of pomegranate-like acidity.

Gertie Cabernet Franc 2022

Crunchy n' taught, this Grenache is overflowing with raspberry coulis and spice, wrapped with a veil of silky tannin, with darts of pomegranate woven through. A modern iteration, coming from 88-year-old vines, with so much ease of drinkability. Nouveau by name, nouveau by nature.

Chaffey Bros Pax Aeterna Nouveau Grenache 2022

This has become our favourite recurring dream! Every year sees a lil' vintage variation on the theme, but one thing that stays the same is it's always a winner! Now in its ninth (!) iteration, this vintage brings together Semillon, Pedro Ximenéz, and Riesling with a splash of Roussanne and Muscat. A little richer than we've seen in previous years, with notes of orange segment, peach, and green mango, alongside the whip and carry of tannin we've come to know and love. Dream on, friends!

Smallfry Tangerine Dream White 2022

This is a lighter, more vibrant example of Cabernet Sauvignon, with 10% Shiraz added for extra plushness and perfume. Medium-weighted with lifted blue fruits, violet flowers, and wild herbs alongside chewy Cabernet tannins and fresh acidity.
