We made a thoughtful selection of subregional character when considering the wines we wanted to share with you. In McLaren Vale, the sandy soils of the vineyard work well to highlight the aromatics of the Grenache. This year's iteration is a real step up in complexity and structure! With the extra dimension of wild plum, think sweet red currants with some crunch to the fruit, and a lovely tight grain of tannin, all wrapped with a veil of berry and violet aromatics. Sweet, spice-laden and with a silk-like textural flow—there's a real finesse to this wine. Ready to drink, this release promises to compliment the finest of dining experiences. This 2020 edition reflects an equal 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon composition. Arriving at 13.0% it is elegantly weighted and not overly extracted, prime for early enjoyment. Taste pure cassis and wild mulberry fruits with a veil of autumnal earth and lead pencil shavings in the background. There is coco powder and cedar shaving on the layered and medium weighted palette. Hedonistic.
