His Tempranillo spent 14 months in a mixture of French, Hungarian and American oak barrels (20% new), helping to push it into a savoury direction yet still retaining plenty of freshness. The nose is distinctively savoury with aromas of dried tobacco and licorice, yet the palate takes things in a different direction with red cherry, cola bottle and briny acidity underscored by firm tannins, tight-grained tannins.
