Unlike my Italian, this lands fruitfully-smooth with cherry and raspberry, but it settles with some savoury tannin and crisp acidity. On the nose expect varietal young red apple and some parsley-like green herbs that lead to a silky palate touched with herbal spice and lemon verbena. So delicious and a bottle to open when you want to impress.

Aromatics are pure, with heaps of tobacco leaf and some ripe cherry, black currant and just a nib of cacao. Goes very well with a light-to-heavy pullover.

Ready to amp up your guzzle dial? This one’s full of ripe cherry pie and a little dusty tannin makes it great value. Has a little soft edge thanks to time in terracotta.

Fox John Sangiovese 2021

The wine is Barrel fermented in new, two and three year old French oak barrels. The medium bodied palate is balance and the fresh plum and blackberry fruit flavours are interlaced with a fine tannin structure.

Asher Shiraz 2019

This carefully handcrafted wine boasts purity in spades and is overflowing with character and charm. Fruit for this wine came from a unique vineyard overlooking the Goulburn River, sitting on rich alluvial soils in an area that’s home to many retired volcanoes—Dane has told us more than once that the quality of fruit from this spot is incredible! The Syrah is a blend of two separate ferments, which both underwent semi-carbonic maceration with 10 days on skins. In the glass, expect bright and lifted fruit flavours, with intermingling notes of bramble berries, boysenberry, and raspberry coulis. There’s a fresh acidity and energy to the wine that make it perfect for summertime drinking. It’s fantastic as is, but if we were you, we’d chuck this one on ice before drinking.
